Ian and I had a thoroughly enjoyable weekend in every way. Thanks to yourself, Mary, Lesley, Johnny and everybody who worked hard to arrange the weekend and also to everybody else who were a part of it and last but not least all the other paddlers who helped to make it such fun. The location for the event was perfect and so were the lovely meals we had at night, the slide shows... actually everything was really super!!!

Our paddle with Johnny to Rerwick was really great. We had a relaxing paddle in beautiful scenery, the cliffs, caves and arches were really nice and the rock formation and colours totally amazing!! Johny was a great guide... really friendly and informative and good company. The sun even shone for us ! Our small cozy group had a great day, lovely paddle exploring all the caves etc, nice relaxing picnic, a few laughs and a totally stress free day. What more could the doctor order eh!!? Well except a glass or two of medicinal red wine.. and even that was provided!! Incredible!! Thankyou Orkney!! It couldn't have been better!!!

I'd like to say that I had a great time and thank all those involved with making the event happen, but especially thank Mary and Lesley. I slept well, ate very well and perhaps drank a little too much. Of course the paddling was wasn't bad either.

As someone that doesn't generally do symposiums any more because most have become too big and commercial, I'd like to say that this is a model of how a group paddling event should be run.

Keep it small and keep it friendly.
