UKCC Level 2 coaches
Mary Mary Mary is a UKCC Level 2 coach, having undertaken her assessment in June 2011 and (finally) finished her paperwork in October 2011. She is a 3* sea kayak paddler and completed the 4* sea leader training with Gordon Brown in March 2009 and again in April 2010. She hopes to undertake 4* assessment in 2012. When not coaching, Mary can often be found trying to play canoe polo (without much success) and in real life, she is an archaeological geophysicist and loves all things cartographic.
Lesley Lesley Lesley completed her UKCC Level 2 coaching award with Steve MacKinnon in June 2011. Lesley holds the 3* sea kayak award and has done the 4* sea leader training with Gordon Brown. Lesley enjoys developing her Greenland rolling skills and hopes one day to have her own Greenland style boat to go with her Greenland stick and her Norsaq.

Kate Kate picture Kate completed her UKCC Level 1 coaching course with Steve MacKinnon (Highland RCO) and John Huxtable in September 2009. Having spent the summer training for 2* canoe and kayak, she is keen to complete the award and upgrade her coaching qualification to Level 1 boat based. Over winter and next season, Kate is keen to start working towards her 3* sea award and the UKCC Level 2 coaching certificate.
Dennis Dennis Dennis completed his UKCC Level 1 training in Inverness with Steve MacKinnon and Mags Duncan in November 2009 and holds the 3* sea kayak award.  He loves camping trips and wishes he discovered kayaking when he was younger!  Away from kayaking, Dennis is a farmer.

BCU Coaches
Johnny Johnny Johnny is a BCU Level 2 coach and has been paddling for longer than he can remember.  He obtained the Sea Proficiency Test in 1992, 3* in 1993 and gained his Instructor award in 1994.  He holds two VHF radio certicates and completed the Basic Sea Survival, Day Skipper and Maritime Inshore Rescue Station Member courses.  He enjoys exploring the fascinating Orkney coastline from his kayak and is interested in helping anyone who wants to improve kayaking skills, paddling with friends and enjoying sea kayaking and kayak surfing.

UKCC Level 2 TRAINEE coach cos he needs to finish his paperwork
Peter Peter W Peter is a UKCC L2 trainee, having undertaken L2 training with Steve MacKinnon and Dave Rossetter in March 2010.  He undertook the UKCC Level 1 award with Steve MacKinnon in Inverness in April 2008.  Peter is a 3* sea paddler but doesn't like the cold!  When not in a boat, Peter can be found at home with his cat or working on ageing cars.  Peter hopes to undertake the 4* leader award, allowing him to move on to his Moderate Water Endorsement.  Peter needs to finish his L2 paperwork so he can get the award too!
